Bio

David Salle nasce a Norman, in Oklahoma, nel 1952. E’ un pittore neo-espressionista che ha guadagnato importanza nel 1980 come leader nel ritorno alla figurazione. Egli è ben noto per le sue tele di grandi dimensioni, dotate di una rada e apparentemente disgiuntiva disposizione degli elementi, che includono spesso anche pose provocatorie di donne e nudi e l’uso della grisaglia. Salle attualmente vive e lavora a Brooklyn, New York.

David Salle born in Norman, Oklahoma, in 1952. He is a neo-expressionist painter who gained prominence in the 1980s as a leader in the return to figuration. He is well known for his large-scale canvases featuring a sparse, seemingly disjunctive arrangement of elements, often including provocatively posed women and nudes and the use of grisaille. Salle actually lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
