Bio

Willie Bester is regarded as one of South Africa’s most significant resistance artists. He incorporates recycled material into his paintings, assemblages and sculptures, usually commenting on political injustices and human rights issues of the day.
Born in 1956, Montagu, Cape Town. He became a full-time artist in 1991. He didn't have a formal art training, he is a self taught artist.
