L’opera fa parte di una serie di disegni in bianco e nero che rappresentano i soggetti più iconici del lavoro di Donald Baechler: smiley, fiori, alberi e animali, provenienti dalle mostre istituzionali dell’artista tenutesi rispettivamente alla Galleria Civica di Trento nel 1999 e al Kunst Meran di Merano nel 2005.

Alcune di queste opere su carta, come racconta Toni Shafrazi “divennero la fonte di alcuni suoi quadri”; i disegni di Donald Baechler, particolarmente amati da Paul Kasmin, furono oggetto di una sua mostra sold out.

The work is part of a series of black and white drawings that represent the most iconic subjects of Donald Baechler’s work: smileys, flowers, trees and animals. The works come from the artist’s institutional exhibitions held both at the Galleria Civica di Trento in 1999 and at the Kunst Meran of Merano in 2005. Some of these works on paper, as Toni Shafrazi said “became the source of some of his paintings”; Donald Baechler’s drawings, particularly loved by Paul Kasmin, were the subject of his sold out exhibition.
