David Bowes is an American painter. Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1957, Bowes was first recognized during the early 1980s in New York’s East Village. He is described as a “brilliant painter”, who has a “delicacy of touch and genuine fascination with the medium of paint”. Bowes’ works were exhibited both in the United States and in Europe. He also participated at the 48th Venice Biennale in 1999. His work is currently held in the collection of the Walker Art Center and the Broad Contemporary Art Museum at LACMA.
