About

Francesco Clemente.
Born in 1952, in Napoli

Francesco Clemente is an Italian artist, born in 1952 in Napoli. His work became popular in the mid-1970s, with vivid paintings characterized by an erotic and oniric imagery. Fascinated by Indian art and mysticism, in his gouache paintings and pastel drawings there is a great component of intense and arcane religious content, which becomes more surrealist in his last works. He currently lives and works between New York and Varanasi (IN).
