Fulvio di Piazza

Journey to unrecognized lands

May 21 - September 25, 2015

A village stands on the head of a fiery cetacean, while a vessel runs aground on its back. In the background, a storm is unleashed: this is just one of the many possible scenarios in Fulvio Di Piazza’s paintings, in the exhibition at Studio d’Arte Raffaelli from 21 May to 25 September 2015.

Totemic characters and fairytale whales travel to the mountainous lands of the imagination, trying to solve the enigma of painting that the artist prepares with a different solution key in each of the works in the exibition. Pop Surrealist, Fulvio Di Piazza draws on a repertoire of timeless images and suggestions, very often borrowed from the Sicilian nature in its double face of mother and stepmother.
This is how magnificent landscapes come to life, governed, in their richness, by a compositional syntax that pays tribute to the attention to detail, color and light.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue with text by Adrea Bruciati.
