Fulvio Di Piazza

About

Fulvio Di Piazza
Born in 1967 in Siracusa

Fulvio Di Piazza was born in 1969 in Siracusa and he studied at the Urbino Art Academy. His work is characterized by large oil paintings of fantastical scenes with lush forests, spiraling volcanic smoke, islands in the sky and vividly colored sunlight. Among them, there are frequently large floating heads or animals floating in the center of his canvases, which upon closer inspection are made of delicately and minutely detailed landscapes. Di Piazza is part of what is called the ” School of Palermo ”, with other 3 artists. This is an artistic partnership that became an important component of the Italian art scene between the nineties and the 2000s. In March 2018 the Riso, Museum of Contemporary Art of Sicily, honored these four artists with a collective exhibition. Di Piazza currently lives and works in Palermo.
