Nicola Samori
Was born in 1977 in Forlì

Nicola Samorì was born in 1977 in Forlì and he currently lives and works in Bagnacavallo. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, graduating in 2004. He obtained some prestigious awards such as the Morandi award for art graphics, i.e. the art of engraving (2002) and the Michetti artistic prize (2006). His paintings are skillful reproductions of classical portraits and still-life paintings on canvas, wood or copper, purposefully destroyed to negate classical representation and question painting itself.

The exhibition project, designed by the artist exclusively for the halls of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Bologna, allows you to comprehensively and lenticularly read the path he has taken in the last twenty years, illuminating the most representative works of his production.

From the 9th of October to the 14th of February 2021 the Mart museum in Rovereto hosts the exhibition Caravaggio. Il contemporaneo, which offers the opportunity to admire the Seppellimento di Santa Lucia, the first Sicilian work of Michelangelo Merisi, also known as Caravaggio. The artwork is currently located in Siracusa, at the Chiesa di Santa Lucia alla Badia.
