About
Pierluigi Pusole
Born in 1963 in Turin.
Pierluigi Pusole was born in 1963 in Turin. His painting explores the relationship between nature, science, and perception through depictions of landscapes, mountains, and cellular structures that appear to proliferate infinitely. From the 1990s onward, the artist incorporated elements of scientific language into his work — such as graphs, sine waves, and geometric patterns — creating a tension between rational structure and painterly sensibility. Pusole began exhibiting his work in 1986 and later participated in numerous art exhibitions and group shows, including the Venice Biennale 1991, Dodici pittori italiani (1995), Cambio di guardia (1996), Il Cangiante (1987), Anni Novanta (1991), as well as Ultime generazioni and Antologia (1996). He is regarded by critics as an original artist whose work is constantly engaged in a dialectical confrontation with the means of image production, establishing him as one of the most distinctive and mature voices in contemporary Italian painting. Pierluigi Pusole currently lives and works in Turin.
