Magazzino Art Foundation presents, for the first time in the
United States, an exhibition dedicated to Pietro Gilardi, an artist
from Turin (Italy): the twenty artworks directly donated by the
artist are featured in Gilardi: Carpet-Nature exhibition curated
by Elena Re.
The exhibition features a series of works that address the
Carpet-nature theme, from the earliest examples in the late
Sixties to the most recent realizations. The exhibition was “born
out of a the desire to discover and to deepen Gilardi’s
expressive research” on the eve of his 80th birthday. A research
that, as the director Vittorio Calabrese explains, is indissolubly
linked to the Carpets-Nature: polyurethane reconstructions
extended in portions of natural environment (lawns,
undergrowths, riverbanks) that mix the grandeurs of Post-Pop
Art, Arte Povera and Land Art.
The exhibition is open to the public from May 7, 2022 to
January 9, 2023 at the Magazzino Art Fundation of Cold Spring,
New York
