Margherita Paoletti

Ritratti

Cellar Contemporary

In collaboration with Cantina La-Vis

Art and wine represent a virtuous union that boasts centennial stories, but also socio-cultural projects that deserve to be remembered in these days of Vinitaly.

One of these beautiful stories comes precisely from one of the artists of Cellar Contemporary: it concerns the “Portraits” created by artist Margherita Paoletti, the result of the collaboration born between the artist and Cantina La Vis, which, in the wake of a tradition linked to the territory of Val di Cembra and to the labels of the great pointillist Giovanni Segantini, presented the new series of Ritratti that feature precisely Paoletti’s artistic sensibility.

The historic Trentino wine cooperative, presents the relaunch of this new line, Ritratti at Studio d’Arte Raffaelli, as well as in Milan in the bucolic setting of Alessandra Straccamore and Matteo Mazza’s Motelombroso: six paintings, for six new labels, designed for six wines of excellence – Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Lagrein and Pinot Noir.
Margherita Paoletti thus transforms each bottle into an authentic work of art.

The young artist was selected in collaboration with ADAC (Archivio Trentino Documentazione Artisti Contemporanei) as well as with the contribution of Gabriele Lorenzoni, curator of the Mart in Rovereto and head of the Galleria Civica in Trento. The curator comments by saying: “With ADAC we are in the business of promoting the activity, knowledge and study of the work of artists from Trentino, with a special focus on young people. We liked the idea behind the Portraits project right from the start and developed a short-list of candidates based on the evaluation of criteria, such as the quality of the work and the originality of the research, but also the use of traditional painting techniques, the link with the territory and the expression of contemporary aesthetic and formal values. Paoletti married the initiative with expertise and professionalism, creating six unique paintings, shown on the label, which the winery purchased, contributing to the value of the local artistic heritage.”

Ezio Dallagiacoma, technical director and winemaker of Cantina La Vis, to the editorial staff of Il Giornale says instead: “The new Ritratti project was born from a collective path, the result of the synergy between members, agronomists and oenologists, who cooperate every day in a continuous exchange of know-how and experience.”
With this project, La-Vis renews not only its historical line, but also its commitment: to preserve the identity of each vineyard, safeguarding the natural and social heritage of a land that has guarded its charm and richness for centuries.
