Was born in 1969  in Trento, Italia

Stefano Cagol was born in 1969 in Trento. He graduated at the Accademia di Brera in Milan and received a post-doctoral fellowship at Ryerson University in Toronto. In 2018 he participated in OFF Biennale Cairo and in 2017 he was part of the show for COP23, the international conference for climate change at the German Ministry of Environment in Berlin (his works became part of its Collection, too). Cagol also took part in the grand inaugural exhibition curated by Veit Loers at Haus Mödrath – Räume für Kunst in Cologne (until November, 2018). He participated in Manifesta 11 in Zurich and in the 55th Venice Biennale in 2013. He was also invited by the Maldives Pavilion, then in the 54th Venice Biennale with a solo collateral event, in the 4th Berlin Biennale with a special project and in the 1st Singapore Biennale in 2006. In 2014-2015 his solo project “The Body of Energy (of the mind)” was presented at the MAXXI Museum in Rome, at Museum Folkwang in Essen and in other important museums. Among other prizes and awards, he received the Visit Prize of the German foundation RWE (2014) and of the Terna Prize for Contemporary Art (2009). He obtained many artist residencies and fellowships including: Cambridge Sustainability Residency; Air Bergen; Vir-Viafarini-in-residence in Milan; BAR International in Kirkenes; International Studio and Curatorial Program ISCP in New York; International Center of Photography in New York.
